The Second Part of the “Energetic Schools Phase II Project” is held with the students of Vocational High School in Malatya

“The Energetic Schools Phase II Project”, which is carried out with cooperation of Çalık Enerji Mitsubishi Corporation and Sustainability Steps Foundation and Tokio-based corporate social responsibility budget of Mitsubishi Corporation, has been carried out in Malatya as it was in Amasya previously.

The Energetic Schools Phase II Project of Çalık Enerji Mitsubishi Corporation and Sustainability Steps Foundation has been held in Malatya on 13-14 December in order to have expanded awareness of vocational high school students on sustainability, climate change, renewable energy and technology. The Project, which is held with the contribution of Malatya Provincial Directorate of National Education and hosted by İnönü University, has been reached more than 400 students in Malatya. A total of 1000 students and tens of thousands of vocational high school students will be reached through physical meetings and digital channels.

“The Energetic Schools Phase II Project”, which is carried out with cooperation of Çalık Enerji Mitsubishi Corporation and Sustainability Steps Foundation and Tokio-based corporate social responsibility budget of Mitsubishi Corporation, has been carried out in Malatya as it was in Amasya previously. Expanding awareness seminars and workshops on sustainability, climate change, energy and technology has been executed for more than 400 vocational high school students with the contributions of Malatya Provincial Directorate of National Education. Prof. Dr. Nusret Akpolat who is the vice rector of İnönü University, Yasunori Sakamoto who is the general manager of Mitsubishi Corporation in Turkey and Ender Hıdıroğlu who is the chairman of Çalık Holding has been attended to the opening ceremony of the project.

It is aimed to reach 1000 students physically and tens of thousands of students throughout Turkey digitally with the project, which will continue in Samsun after it is held in Amasya and Malatya.

Students found the opportunity to approach problems in a solution-oriented manner and to work as a team.

More than 400 students from 6 different high schools such as Şehit Gökhan Ertan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Yunus Emre Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Yeşilyurt Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Hasan Akbudak Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Şehit Kemal Özalper Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Fatma Aliye Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical has participated to this project. On the first day; After the speeches by Gökmen Topuz who is the Deputy General Manager of Çalık Enerji, Architect Özgül Öztürk who is the founder of A Mimarlık, Doç. Dr. Murad Tiryakioğlu who is the native green new founder and İlker Elal who is the co-founder of Minorpreneurs; Solution workshops were held under the headings of sustainability, climate change, renewable energy and technology with the participation of representative vocational high school students and teachers on the second day. The students found the opportunity to look at the problems in the solution workshops with a solution-oriented approach and to work as a team.

More students will be reached by transferring the project to digital environment

The aforementioned activities will be reached o more students by transferring to the digital environment with the website to be opened after the physical activities are completed in Amasya, Malatya and Samsun. The basic concepts of sustainability, the effects of climate change on our lives, renewable energy sources and the importance of digitalization and technology in sustainability will be explained to high school students in an appropriate and understandable language.
